Agreed, this is one of the least legit reviews/sites I have ever seen. Ever.
Welcome back, Chris. We missed you.
@Lvl_up_gamer: there is an autosave! :) I didn't realise it myself at first, but you can activate it in the main menu - it saves every round and in the geoscape.
Makes the first run a bit easier.
Oh, Pachter. He's a clever guy, of that I have no doubt, and he's experienced too. Wedbush pays him for his opinions and forecasts, which are effectively educated guesses that come good more than 50% of the time. I can respect that.
But does anyone else wish that he'd keep them behind closed doors and stop trying to be a celebrity? He's a number cruncher, effectively an accountant, not a spokesman or public figure. Personally I wish he'd stay in the office...
Yep, I liked it. Occasionally, I even loved it, when the camera let me. Sure the lack of survival horror is annoying, but the story was surprisingly effective and well told (Piers is an utter legend, and Sherry/Jake's relationship kept me glued to that campaign). It's great in co-op and becomes an entirely different game, with players sometimes dropping in to grief in agent hunt. Loads of cool ways to work together.
It wasn't the Resi we wanted, but now we've ...
It's clear that the author was writing from a European perspective (Eurogamer Expo is in Britain), and I kind of agree with him. Problem is that Nintendo is doing hardly anything to market the Wii U here in Britain/EU compared to the states and Japan, and there's a lot of malaise and confusion on many of the European sites/communities etc. Hardly any adverts, didn't show up to Gamescom (world's biggest expo in Germany) etc.
For the record I HAVE PREORDERED A W...
Looks gorgeous on Vita. Was going to get it on PC, but you're right, the OLED screen makes it look absolutely spectacular.
Lost so many men to Chryssalids, wish they didn't move during your turn when you discover them!
No, no no. The PC has a deeper breadth and wider variety of games than any console on the market, both in terms of massive AAA exclusives, exquisite indie gems and everything in between. Cheaper.
I own both a PS3 and Xbox 360 and still use them for exclusives - and I won't try and pretend that I don't find the console experience much more convenient. But despite having to update the odd driver and upgrade every once in a while, my PC has pride of place.
Galling. HOWEVER, if it makes you feel any better, you're not missing out. I ended up buying Dawnguard and HF on 360 and wish I hadn't.
Dawnguard is just a little extra content with unambitious missions and forgettable storyline. Becoming a vampire lord is actually much more trouble than it's worth, and you'll soon stop doing it. Hearth Fire is totally and completely pointless (just read the reviews, trust me, I should have).
If Bethesda relea...
I hope not. Indie development is now one of the most exciting and expanding market sectors out there, and Sony has shown a great degree of forward-thinking and foresight in supporting the scene.
PSM, the Indie Pub Fund, and partnering with studios like thatgamecompany, Giant Sparrow etc demonstrates that Sony are committed to supporting varied and exciting indie games, which can only come back to them in a good way.
It's a shame that Microsoft aren't...
PS3 Skyrim players: if it makes you feel any better, you're not missing out. I ended up buying Dawnguard and HF on 360 and wish I hadn't.

If Bethesda releases a Shivering Isles-s...
I'll probably pick it up/rent in summer 2013 when the prices have come down - too many awesome (better) games to buy this Christmas!
Yep. Here in Europe, we can only look over the Atlantic and watch in envy at stuff like Dyad, Closure, CS:GO etc, not to mention a bunch of PSOne classics.
Or make a US account. ;)
Wow... are 3 people really disagreeing with that? Really? Pretty sure AdaptAndOvercome knows whether or not he's disappointed and doesn't need to be told what to think...
(I was a bit disappointed)
Haha, that's probably #1!
@iHeartHelloKitty [reply fail] It's a bit more subtle than that. Numerology has always been a key part of Bungie tradition, with the numbers 3, 10 and ESPECIALLY 7 being incredibly important to them. Seriously, every game since Marathon has referenced these numbers right down to the lore and even the mechanics.
I could bore you all day, but instead, http://bungie.wikia.com/wik... Makes fun toilet read...
Agreed.
That said, perhaps some people will want to quickly level up characters they use in multiplayer to reach the same levels as their friends.
Quality is a kind of value. I'd rather play an hour of something truly wonderful than an entire day of mediocre tripe.
That said, I'd prefer to have both - and it's hard not to think of games in terms of $/hr.
I personally think that Microsoft are on thin ice as far as first and second-party content goes, especially when going into a new generation. Sony have spent this generation quietly assembling a small army of excellent studios, from indies to massive AAA goliaths, while Microsoft has continually let theirs fall through their fingers.
I've found myself playing a lot more X360 towards the start of this gen and during the first few years of the PS3, but now, the quality of S...
